Demi Moore posted a heartfelt tribute to her ex-husband and “girl dad” Bruce Willis yesterday on Father’s Day. As per reports, Demi and Bruce have remained close since their divorce some 23 years ago, with the former’s commitment to her ex-husband coming to the fore recently following Willis’s diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia.
ndeed, Moore is said to have been a staunch pillar of support for Bruce in recent months what with his ongoing health issues, and her Instagram post yesterday was enough to have even the hardest of hearts sympathize with the situation at hand. Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know all about Bruce Willis’s health issues of late.
The Hollywood icon and Armageddon star retired from acting last year in the wake of a diagnosis of aphasia. Among other things, the condition reportedly impaired his ability to communicate, making it increasingly difficult for him to work on set. Tragically, however, his condition has worsened since then – his family confirmed earlier this year that he had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
Needless to say, the diagnosis came as a shock to all of Bruce’s loved ones, as well as fans worldwide, and those nearest and dearest to him have been lending their support in all manner of ways. That includes ex-wife Demi Moore, who by all accounts has done her utmost to be by her former partner’s side to help in any way she can. Reports earlier this year claimed Moore had even moved in with Bruce and his family.
Demi and Bruce share three daughters, Rumer, 34, Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29. Yesterday, Moore took to her Instagram page to pay tribute to her ex-husband, stating that she was “forever grateful”. Captioning a heartwarming black and white throwback picture of Bruce and his three girls when they were little, Moore wrote:
“Forever grateful to you BW for giving me these three beautiful girls. We love our #girldad. Happy Father’s Day!” Bruce’s wife Emma Heming Willis also paid tribute to the Pulp Fiction actor on social media. The pair share two girls, Mabel Ray and Evelyn Penn, with Emma taking the time to praise Bruce’s hard work with his daughters.
“Father’s Day is a time I get to reflect on my deep appreciation and respect I have for Bruce as I watch him father our little ones,” Emma wrote.
“Where it might not be ‘conventional’, what he’s teaching them will span generations. Unconditional love, kindness, strength, compassion, patience, generosity, resilience.
“Happy Father’s Day to the greatest dad I know, who will forever be the gift that keeps giving within our family.” Latest reports paint a bleak picture concerning Bruce’s prognosis. Last month, Emma, 44, gave an update on her husband’s condition, describing his treatment options as “slim”.
“When you live the world of dementia you know that options are slim,” she told The Sun. “But some won’t take that lying down which is how change is made, and I got to witness the beauty in that last night.”
We’re wishing the legendary Bruce Willis all the best moving forward. May the Lord grant him the strength to overcome the challenges he faces. Share this article if you’d also like to send love and support in Bruce’s direction
